My Life...To This Point!
I'm originally from a moderately sized town in north-central New Jersey called Perth Amboy. Perth Amboy is a little known town located right across the river from Staten Island New York, one of the five burroughs of New York City. My love for art developed primarily because of my geographic location and my natural ability to reproduce life. I grew up appreciating a variety of styles of art from the ancient classics seen in various museums in NYC to the rugged street art seen painted on cement canvases across an otherwise depressing landscape.
We moved to Florida while I was a teenager and my love for art continued. I was introduced in high school to a revolutionary book called "Drawing From The Right Side Of The Brain" written by Betty Edwards. The book took my abilities to another level when the suggested techniques were applied. I collected first place ribbons at many art shows and even had a piece displayed in a student exhibition at the world renown Guggenheim Museum in NYC. By end of my high school career I had received scholarships to various art schools in Florida and Georgia.
After some thought and a lot of discouragement from peers, I decided to leave art and wandered aimlessly through the university system, changing degrees a few times along the way. I eventually decided to go into the medical field and received a degree in respiratory care in 1999. I still felt that I had not achieved my full potential.
In 2005, I decided to pursue my lifelong dream of working in the creative industry. The curriculum was difficult and many times foreign. With a lot of had work and many sleepless nights I achieved my goal. Today, I continue to improve my skills in all aspects media and I look forward to participating in many creative projects in the near future.
